WASP Pilot Elaine D. Harmon Tailwheel and Warbirds Scholarships

WASP Pilot Elaine D. Harmon Warbirds Scholarship

WASP Pilot Elaine D. Harmon
Tailwheel Scholarship
In memory of WASP pilot Elaine D. Harmon, this scholarship will provide up to $1,500 to fund tailwheel endorsement training and test- ing. The purpose of the scholarship is to en- courage and assist pilots to become involved in the warbird community to keep these historic airplanes flying. The tailwheel endorsement is generally a requirement to pursue warbird pilot rating. Accordingly, this scholarship is intended to support a pilot who is interested in further training to fly warbirds. The applicants should provide an additional essay up to 500 words explaining their interest in warbirds and any background or involvement in the warbird community. Applicants are encouraged to research if they meet minimum certification requirements to pursue this training at their provider of choice. The funds will be paid directly to the training provider and must be used within one year of receiving the award.
