It?s the holiday season and I wanted to lighten things up for this blog because?well, it?s the holiday season!? New Year?s Eve is right around the corner and many people will be going out on the town to celebrate.? Besides that, this is a hectic time of year and I was looking for something really simple and easy to share. ?

I've always loved dancing!

I’ve always loved dancing!

It?s become a priority to include things in each of my days that are enjoyable and that provides some benefit to my mind and body.? Dancing around does that.? Smiles just naturally appear when you dance!? My dog gets super excited when I slowly start increasing the volume of the music.? She likes to dance too, apparently.? There are many studies that suggest activities such as dancing are really good for lifting the spirits and releasing endorphins.? Endorphins are your friend and you should encourage them to come out as often as possible.? They reduce stress.? Would anyone argue that life is stressful? Who doesn?t want to reduce the stress in their lives??? Based on the Almighty Google, ?Dancing also improves spatial awareness (pilots LOVE talking about “spatial awareness”), as well as raise the heart rate and cause a release of feel-good endorphins into the bloodstream. One more benefit is that it helps reduce levels of cortisol ? a stress hormone.?

Check out this article on dancing.? Hopefully, this will convince you to get moving! Dancing by yourself is pretty fun and it doesn?t cost a thing! Plus, you can do it any time of day, with or without makeup, in your pajamas or all dressed up. ?

Another benefit is that it forces me to put the brakes on everything else for just 15-20 minutes, cut loose, and just have fun.? After that, I?m ready to get SERIOUS people! HaHa. Actually, after dancing, everything else seems waaaaay less important. ?I?m not sure if that?s good or bad but it certainly feels easier to deal with the tasks of the day.? My creativity seems to start flowing, as well. ?My dog may get excited for my ?dance party? but my teenaged boys normally look at me like I?m a crazy person.? They know when the party is about to go down because the volume gets cranked up.? Surprisingly, they usually appear within a few minutes to scope out the scene.? Yes, they roll their eyes ? and make fun of me but occasionally they join in.? Oftentimes, there is a little merciless coaxing involved? They do seem to enjoy it, although they would NEVER admit that. ?I can see it on their faces.? Moms know.

It was a little challenging narrowing this list down to just TEN songs but here they are.? If you download these songs, use Spotify, or open up Pandora, these tunes are guaranteed to make you want to move!!?
